An approximate rule of thumb for a well balance canine diet is equal parts protein, starch and vegetable with a little oil and fruit. Bear in mind that dogs by nature are omnivorous.
You're on the right track. Do a net search on canine diets.
Edit: Only the uneducated think dogs are carnivorous.

Feed your dog only a quality dry dog food (like Iams). It has all the nutrients he needs and is much better for him than people food.

JUST cooked potatoes? Absolutely not. Your dog is a carnivore and needs a lot more protein than that.

Potatoes are a starch and turns to sugar. That is not a good diet for your dog. You would be better off to get a high qquality dog food for your dog if you love him/her. It will be well balanced for your dog's diet.

Potato has a lot of starch and will eventually give your dog a big belly. Especially if it's loaded with butter and sour cream, the way I like it.

Is that ALL you are feeding your dog? What you have listed?
If so, that's not a balanced diet. He needs much more than this. If you are adding this to his food on occasion it's fine. Why not just buy a good quality kibble? There are plenty of reasonable priced dog foods out there.
Your dog needs a complete and balanced diet - just like with humans. You are essentially feeding your dog all starches. That's not healthy.
